Leavers' Formal.

So every year in June we have a big formal party for all the JETs who are leaving that year. This time I'm one of the leavers which is just weird! All the guys are in suits and all the girls are in their best dresses. Once again thanks to my friend Mindy, and Tom of course, I have some awesome pictures to share with you guys!

Raving in the Woods in Kigurumi!

What the hell is a kigurumi? I assume this is your first thought if you're not in Japan. Well it's a furry onesie that's also a costume. Mine is Hello Kitty. You can get all sorts like Stitch, Winnie the Pooh, Jack Skeleton, Pickachu etc. I've recently worn mine out for a hen party, the rave in the woods mentioned above and just randomly around the house at the weekends as it's so comfy.
Anyhoo the rave in the woods was awesome! We stayed up all night dancing the night away to psy trance, not usually my favourite but not bad, and watched the sunrise over the mountains. It was beautiful and awesome to be warm again! We were at a campsite in a little valley surrounded by lush green woods with no one to be annoyed by us! All in all I was up for about 34 hours, work on Monday was a bit tough, heh! Here's some pics. Man I'm gonna miss this country!

Ergh, burnt my finger on my hair straighteners tonight, doh! It really hurts! Right, watching some Star Trek then to bed. Got a pretty tough day tomorrow!

Instant Ramen Museum

Hey guys. I've been stuck in bed all day with stomach cramps. Finally got up and did some exercise but now have soooooo much work to do tomorrow as I'm a day behind in my test marking, ergh! Anyhoo, I'm off out for some dinner soon with Tom so that'll be nice.
Here are some pictures from our visit to the Instant Ramen museum. We got to hand make some chicken noodles (bit like making pasta) and then design our own cup noodle flavour and decorate the packets. It was awesome. We then went for some delicious chicken ramen afterwards. Ooo I also got some new jeans on the way home. Wore them last night to dinner so pics will be up soon.

Snow Monkeys!

Hey so this is what I got up to this weekend. These are the only monkeys in the world (I think) that bathe in a hot spring. They're so cute!

1. Dinner at the hotel.
2 to 5. Snow Monkeys!

Hiroshima Day 3.

Ergh, spent the day doing laundry and ironing, boring! How's your Sunday been? Here's some pics from our last day in Hiroshima. We took the ferry across to Miyajima which is a world heritage sight. It has a Torii gate that looks like it's floating at high tide and a shrine that does the same thing. And a pagoda, temples and a mountain. We got the cable car up but walked down. An hour and a half of continuous stairs really took its toll on my calves! They've only just recovered. A sign I need to do more exercise I feel.

Right, I must off to get ready for a friends dinner party. We're having Takoyaki, an Osaka special of octopus balls...it's tastier than it sounds, promise!

Hiroshima Day 2.

On our second day we woke up a little later than planned (alcohol is bad.....) but still managed to get around the Peace Park, the Peace Museum (fantastic museum about the bomb with good history, facts and then the gruesome effects of the bomb). Then after some lunch we hopped on the train to the sake festival. Over 900 types to try....only I found out after my 5 cup or so I don't really like it, haha! So the boyfriend kept drinking and I managed to get him back to the hotel for a little nap before a really nice dinner at a Thai restaurant.


On the tram, such a reasonably priced way to get around town! Also my bag isn't actually that red in real life!


A-bomb dome during the day. This is the only structure left from when the bomb was dropped. It has been kept in the same condition it was in straight after the bombing as a reminder and memorial of such an horrific event in human history. I personally think it's an eerily beautiful memorial.

This was a window display in a drugstore...eye patches are very popular here...apparently stuffed dead animals agree...love Japan's random craziness.

Hiroshima Day 1.

We had a long weekend here in Japan so the boyfriend and I went to Hiroshima. It was my 3rd visit to this beautiful city but my boyfriends first so we did all the touristy things which are really good! Due to me working Saturday day and getting drunk Friday night, so didn't pack, we left a bit later than planned. Upon our arrival we went to check out the A-bomb dome at night, had Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki (different to here in Osaka) and then met up with some very very drunk friends of ours who'd been at an all day Sake festival. Much fin was had by all and we stumbled back to our little business hotel and passed out ready for sightseeing on Sunday.

USJ :D

 Me and the boyfriend went to USJ (Universal Studios Japan) on Tuesday. It was wicked. We took the day off work and just had fun! Managed to go on the Spider Man ride 3 times, heh! I also tried my first Churrito (yummy), bagged a pair of 3D glasses that are so 80's I'm in love and bought a truly awesome Hello Kitty hat with ears that the boyfriend hates but I adore. (Hello, my name is Jen and I am a Hello Kitty-a-holic).

I decided I have been wearing too much black of late, so tried to mix it up a bit, even though the shirt is cream and the rest is pretty much black...

Am wearing my Topshop shorts, New Look shirt, Topshop leggings, ABC Mart cowboy boots, Topshop waistcoat, H&M hoodie and Zara jacket. Also have my trusty black bag...oh and new Hello Kitty hat and 3D glasses. :D

The necklace was bought from a random shop on the shoutengai in Shinsaibashi/Namba.

Without meaning to the boyfriend got a good picture of the back of my waistcoat. I love the cut out detail on this one. Actually bought it for an interview but it has become a staple in my wardrobe ever since!
